The School of Distance Education (SDE), Universiti Sains Malaysia, is pleased to invite Science Program students to participate in PIJAR 2026 (Program for Innovation and Joint Action for Resilience), to be held from 2–9 June 2026 and hosted by Universitas Terbuka (UT), Indonesia.
This program brings together students from around the world to explore innovative approaches to sustainable development through interdisciplinary learning, community engagement, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Through lectures, workshops, field visits, and group projects, participants will gain practical insights into the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within Indonesia’s diverse social, cultural, and academic contexts.
Hosted in Jakarta and Bandung, the program offers a unique opportunity to combine academic learning with real-world experiences, empowering students to develop innovative solutions for global sustainability challenges.
Program Overview
- Duration: 8-day intensive program
- Total Learning Experience: 45 hours of experiential learning
Program Highlights
Participants will engage in:
- Interactive lectures & workshops
- Field visits to community-based sustainability initiatives
- Cross-cultural collaboration
- Indonesian cultural immersion
- SDG group project & final presentation
Funding Coverage
Selected participants will receive partial program support, including:
Covered Expenses:
- Program fees
- Accommodation
- Meals during the program
Not Covered (Student’s Responsibility):
- International travel expenses
- Visa costs
- Personal expenses
Additionally, SDE will provide RM500 to each of the two (2) selected participants.
